AWARDS and RECOGNITION NITE R.I. Dist. 3300

Rotary Club of Georgetown had received awards from District 3300 as below:-

1. Best Community Service Project - Sunshine Path lead by President Ong Jin Cheng
2. Outstanding Attendance Award for the RY 2007/2008 - Lead by IPP Beh Hong Pin
3. President Citation Award - Lead by IPP Beh Hong Pin
4. Outstanding Service in Promoting Rotary Foundation and its Goal of World Understanding and Peace - received by PP Soh Yew Aun & PP Lee Peng Loon

Congratulation to RC Georgetown to be able to bag so many significants awards from District 3300. Job well done to all Rotarian in RC Georgetown.

Wheelchair donations

Three wheelchairs of various sizes were donated to Wang Chin Yuen Old Folks home. This old folks home is situated in Bayan Lepas area and run on public funds. The Chairman is our former member Mr. Chan Kean Teong.

Besides donating the wheelchairs, the broken down excercise cycling machine was repaired and was able to be used by the residents there. Picture shows a volunteer Mr. SM Lee and some residents trying out the new wheelchairs on 12th. June.



On 13th June, another recipient of the wheelchair is Mr. Swee Kee Saw. He is 24 years of age and was born with cerebal palsy affecting his legs , neck and left hand. He is working as a lottery seller in a nearby supermarket in Farlim.
